This Day in McDonnell Voodoo History: July 6
In 1966, An RF-101C flown by Maj. James Young
was hit by anti-aircraft fire over North Vietnam and forced to eject just on
the other side of the border in Laos while trying to return to Udorn RTAFB in
Thailand. He was quickly captured by
Communist forces and joined many of his fellow pilots as a POW.
